About us

A small team making transport strikes predictable for anyone travelling in Italy.

What we do

C’è Sciopero is a free iPhone and Android app that notifies you, days in advance, when a train, bus or metro strike is announced in your region. This site publishes the same data for anyone to check without installing anything.

Where the data comes from

Every strike listed comes from the strike dashboard of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT), the official record of strikes announced in essential public services. We add and remove nothing: date, sector, area, hours and unions are shown as published.

Pages update automatically about every 30 minutes. Cancellations and postponements appear as soon as the Ministry records them; for important decisions, always check the operator’s own site too.

Guides

The blog guides (guaranteed service bands, refunds, passenger rights) explain the rules starting from the law, notably Law 146/1990 on strikes in essential public services.
